Hello and welcome to Kissing Friday’s Beauty Blog! :)
Actually, I’m a blogger since 2007 but I never thought I’d be building a beauty blog someday. I started running this business this July and my interest in Make-Up got back! I started watching beauty blogs on youtube (esp. bubzbeauty) and…

I was invited by Penshoppe to Mario Maurer’s fan conference last Friday at PICC with Lissa as my date! Went straight to the venue after my 1-hour class then had lunch with Thons, Micah & Lissa at the banquet before the event. It was my first time to attend a fan conference and I really had…

Think about this for a moment. You’re living your life, have a good job, great friends, family etc. Your world is pretty much perfect- or at least as good as you would have hoped. Then out of nowhere, something feels different. You go to the doctor and learn you have been diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). BOOM. The words hit you like a ton of bricks.
That’s unfortunately exactly how this debilitating disease of the central nervous system strikes. It’s scary and it’s prevalent and it seizes the lives of way too many people in the prime of their lives.
I’m assuming you didn’t know that MS is the leading cause of disability in young women, the second leading cause of disability in young men and the third leading cause overall in disabilities in the US. Yeah, I didn’t either.
and….MS affects children too. Patients have been treated as young as 18 months old.
To put that in perspective, health related costs average $57,000 a year with lifetime costs of more than $3.7 million. The cost of the disease modifying treatments averages $35,000 a year alone. Can you even imagine??
So why am I telling you this?
Because MS is very close to our Donna Karan family. Marlo Donato who has managed our Donna Karan London flagship since 2002 was diagnosed with MS in 2004. Being the kick-butt kind of gal she is (and beyond chic of course), she decided to tell the world about her life with MS in a best-selling book called “Awkward Bitch.” (I mean best book title ever).
Now we have the opportunity to give back and try and support not only Marlo, but thousands of people who struggle with living with MS. Our dear friend & Donna Karan “Woman Who Inspires”, Nancy Davis who also has MS herself has a wonderful foundation that is fighting to eradicate this disease and we are here to help.
Donna Karan has designed a beautiful, bright orange silk blend scarf in an effort to help to erase multiple sclerosis, as part of the “Orange You Happy to Erase MS” campaign.
25% of net sales of its $295 price will go directly to The Nancy Davis Foundation for MS.
Nancy Davis notes, “This is the symbol of our Orange You Happy To Erase M.S, to help raise important funds for Multiple Sclerosis research and to help educate the public about this unpredictable auto immune disease that frequently strikes young women in the prime of their life, taking away their freedom and independence. With the big heart of Donna Karan, we are sure to speed along this process and make the dream of a world free of M.S. a reality.”
The scarf will be available at the Donna Karan stores in New York, London, Las Vegas, Costa Mesa, and online at DonnaKaran.com .
So please support The Nancy Davis Foundation. This chic scarf makes an excellent gift and by buying it you are giving to a worthwhile charity. Personally, I would rather give to a charity any day of the week then g-d forbid have to know first-hand what living with a disease like this is like.
Think about it. Help us erase MS. You’ll be glad you did…
